I have two passions in life - animals and art.

In the first half of my life I focused my energy toward a career in animal health, serving our (often) four-legged friends as a small animal veterinarian. Over the years, I have had a fulfilling career as a clinician, consultant and professor. Throughout my veterinary career art allowed me to express my love for animals and the human-animal bond in all of its forms. In 2018 I retired from veterinary medicine, bringing that chapter to a close and starting a fresh page as a freelance illustrator.

My illustration work allows me to explore a variety of subjects and to create whimsical, fun and often funny images that I hope bring a smile to your face! Though I love illustrating a wide range of things, animals remain my favourite subject matter. Please visit my illustration gallery above for samples of my work and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Those who have followed my work over the years will have seen examples of my fine art which also consists of primarily animal subjects in the medium of scratchboard. I remain a signature member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists and continue to do limited numbers of commissioned pet portraits (see the 'scratchboard art' link above for information).

I hope you enjoy my work, thank you so much for stopping by!
